Job Summary:

The Security Manager is responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the organization's assets, as well as the welfare of employees within the company's premises. Security Managers enforce security protocols and policies and conduct training programs to employees for safety that include emergency drills. They review incident reports and develop security process improvements. The Security Manager will manage a staff of armed security officers and surveillance personnel, who are responsible for patrolling and inspecting the facility's property against theft, fire, vandalism, and terrorism, as well as ensuring the safety of personnel and visitors while on or about the facility's premises.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the facility's safety and security operations department
  • Conducts performance evaluations annually and maintains the quarterly security roster for the state authorities
  • Ensures and maintains adequate staffing coverage for all three shifts
  • Develops and implements New Security Supervisor Training

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Authorizes access to the facility and ensures access is controlled
  • Develops, implements, and maintains a physical security (security risk management) plan for the facility
  • Develops emergency response plan
  • Reports directly to the General Manger and the National Security Director

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of relevant technology and equipment (CCTV, Access Control software)
  • Knowledge of fire prevention, safety, and security operations
  • Ability to act professionally in stressful situations
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Law Enforcement and Compliance departments

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3 years of experience in Armed Security
  • 2 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role
  • BLS Certification
  • CPL
  • Military or Law Enforcement experience preferred
  • De-escalation experience preferred
  • Experience with scheduling coverage for 3 shifts
  • Experience with budget management
  • Experience with daily reporting to management
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
